My name is May. I’m both an IT Engineer and an artist, bringing together two very different worlds: logic and creativity. I studied art at Copenhagen Art School, where I developed my artistic practice and deepened my fascination with expressing what cannot always be put into words.

I paint what cannot always be expressed in words.

To me, colors, lines, and movement are like music. They do not need a specific explanation to evoke a feeling. When I paint, I enter a free space without rules or judgment, where imagination is allowed to take the lead.

I believe there is more to the world than what we immediately see. Beauty can exist in the smallest details — in colors, textures, layers, and movements that might otherwise go unnoticed. Much of my work is abstract and grows from my emotions, experiences, and inner world.

Some of my paintings begin with a clear idea, meaning, or story, while others develop intuitively through emotions, imagination, colors, and movement. Even when a work carries a personal meaning for me, I want to leave space for the viewer to experience it in their own way and discover something within it that is uniquely their own.

At THEMAYART, you’ll find original, hand-painted artworks created individually in my studio. My hope is that you find a piece that not only belongs in your space, but becomes something you continue to discover over time.
